Wedding Astrology - 2010 Trends

Wedding Astrology usually considers a specific birth date, a wedding, as the beginning of a relationship together. But astrology also forecasts trends in the future. Jupiter in Pisces during much of 2010 and Jupiter in Aries in the spring and summer of 2010, along with Saturn in Libra during most of 2010 to 2012 infuse all weddings during these times with their particular flavors. (Saturn also returns to Virgo from April 2010 through most of July 2010)

Jupiter in Pisces: January 19, 2010 to June 6, 2010, September 10, 2010 to January 22, 2011

Jupiter in its ruling sign of Pisces creates an ethereal and otherworldly mood. Brides will use imagination and artistic taste to produce memorable affairs that showcase their love, devotion and sense of spiritual connection. They’ll choose relaxed mood music, fine wine and design elements that suggest the long ago or far away. Feminine, slinky or long, lush and flowing Hollywood-style glamour gowns are highlighted. Evening weddings with candles or subdued lighting can add an air of magic and suggest a storybook dream come true.

Ceremonies should focus on love and spirituality, without needing a tie to tradition. Couples may write heartfelt personal vows, read a favorite poem or prayer that expresses their feelings, or share a moment of silence for grandparents or friends who’ve passed to the other side.

Jupiter in Aries: June 7, 2010 to September 9, 2010

The spring and summer of 2010 feature Jupiter in the fire sign of Aries, making for dynamic and enthusiastic brides who are both the stars and directors of the show. They’ll favor more casual, perhaps shorter looks, bold gowns with shots of bright color, or even an edgy vibe. Stronger shoulders and chunky jewelry should continue in vogue.

Jupiter in Aries makes for quick, snappy vows and shorter ceremonies, getting right to the point!
Couples will prefer lively and exciting or even boisterous themes, including fireworks, rock music and lots of dancing. Military weddings, or those with a martial beat, could become more popular. Bright, upbeat morning and afternoon affairs with a livelier buffet feel are also in keeping with the energetic and vibrant Aries Jupiter.

Saturn in Libra: October 30, 2009 to April 7, 2010, July 22, 2010 to October 5, 2012

As the astrological organizer of the zodiac, Saturn relates to many aspects of the wedding planning process. But it also provides the glue that holds a marriage together. Saturn in Libra makes cooperation crucial to both your wedding and marriage.

Libra is one of the signs most associated with weddings, as it describes the classy, traditional and refined. But if you think you can pull off everything alone, think again! Saturn in Libra almost demands collaboration. Of course, that’s what a marriage is all about. But it’s equally important in wedding planning. You’ll need the services of a dressmaker, caterer, hairdresser, musicians, stationers, etc. And since Saturn also rules our elders, parents should be back in the picture in a big way. We’ll see the resurgence of refined and elegant affairs, since they’re agreeable to most everyone. Be diplomatic in the wedding planning process. Learn to negotiate and compromise. It’s a big deal that requires much thought and consideration. And give yourself the luxury of time – Saturn in Libra needs plenty of it to make the best decisions!

Couples who know how to cooperate, who can divide responsibilities and combine their talents will make the most of Saturn in Libra. Those who balance ambition with discipline, and boundaries with consideration for partners should do even better. Marriage is a serious commitment, especially during Saturn in Libra times!

Saturn in Virgo: April 7, 2010 to July 21, 2010

Saturn in Virgo throughout 2009 and in the spring of 2010 is great for practical-minded couples who control all the details that go into making a successful affair. They’ll be prudent and exacting with suppliers, and will work to make their funds go further. The best weddings during this time will be the result of patience, organization and hard work. Couples who are businesslike with their planning – who set priorities, analyze their budgets, make efficient use of their time and carefully compare prices – will come out ahead.

Discrimination is a Virgo keyword, and brides will seek quality over quantity. But since Virgo is also thrifty, brides will be challenged to be economical as well. They may choose to create their own favors, invitations or wedding albums to save money and insure a superb result. Wild or dry flowers might replace more expensive varieties. Smaller live music ensembles could be more appealing than large bands. Classic and no-frills elegance should exceed immoderate spending: there will still be fine china and glassware, for example, but at a smaller affair. Breakfast, lunch or buffet parties may be more popular than elaborate sit-down dinners.

The sign of Virgo is one of the forces behind the “green” environmental movement, and lends itself to parties in gardens, parks, or other naturally beautiful settings. Brides will favor more natural and uncluttered looks for themselves and the bridal party.

Whatever your wedding plans for 2010, it’s sure to be a plus if you allow Jupiter in Pisces or Aries to connect you with a romantic or edgy vibe, and Saturn in Virgo or Libra to create a beautiful affair.
