Wedding Date Astrology 2010

Astrologers have been choosing wedding dates for what seems like an eternity. The Chinese astrological tradition goes back to the Bronze Age Shang Dynasty. Ancient Roman astrologers, twelfth century Jewish mystics, advisors to Turkish Sultans, and seventeenth century English consultants all selected lucky dates for their clients, family members, and even themselves. And surprisingly enough, the basic rules governing this over 2000-year tradition have remained virtually unchanged throughout the centuries. These time-honored tips can help any bride choose a wedding date on her own. The astrological influences of Mercury retrograde, Venus retrograde, and eclipses can be challenging, but they’re easily avoided. Longer-term astrology influences are part of the fabric of the time.

Don’t be upset if you’ve already chosen a wedding date that has one of these demanding influences. There are ways to work productively with the planetary energies, and awareness of a possible difficulty is always helpful. Longer-term and more committed couples should do better with potentially problematic astrological influences, as they’re already used to working at their relationship and know how to adapt and adjust to one another’s needs.

The astrology of 2010 is more complex than usual. For much of the year, there’ll be a dynamic T-square that will influence your wedding and marriage. This involves Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto combining and blending their energies. But the astrology of Jupiter with Uranus, for example, is very different than Jupiter with Saturn, and May and June will feature both. Consider all influences for your wedding date, but remember that for many weddings in 2010 there will be a blending of three or more of these astrological influences, particularly for popular wedding dates in the spring and summer.

Jupiter Conjunct Neptune: January of 2010
Neptune represents the otherworldly and transcendent – romance, imagination and the soul. Jupiter is open, exciting and curious. The combination makes for a very idealistic pairing.

Saturn Opposite Uranus: March through mid-September of 2010
Saturn opposite Uranus is a long-term astrological influence throughout much of 2010; all weddings this year will be affected by this planetary combination. It suggests a general tone or flavor for the year, but it will also have an impact on your wedding and marriage as well.

Jupiter Opposite Saturn: Late April to mid-September of 2010
Jupiter is expansive and Saturn conservative. This is a definitive combination in astrology as these two planets are so different. When they meet, it’s a balancing act between an idealistic take on life and a prudent one, or between the extravagant and the thrifty.

Jupiter Conjunct Uranus: Late April to the end of 2010
Jupiter conjunct Uranus is a light, bright and scintillating astrological influence. For your wedding, remember that the two planets are similar in that they both invite the new and seek the adventurous.

Jupiter Square Pluto: June through September of 2010
Jupiter square Pluto can be both strong and profound. While it will only influence weddings from June through September of 2010, it is an intense, single-minded astrological combination that you may want to soften for best results.

Saturn Square Pluto: Through mid-October of 2010
Saturn and Pluto will influence all weddings and marriages for about a year, making for a need for stability and security.

Uranus Square Pluto: June through early October of 2010
Uranus Square Pluto is a generational influence, since both planets move slowly and the aspect lasts a long time. They’re located toward the end of our solar system and are known as transcendental planets.
